Here at VV, we can’t think of many things that are better than gathering a bunch of your favorite women together for an afternoon of yummy food, delicious drinks, pretty flowers, and gorgeous vintage dishes to celebrate love. And all of that is exactly what our lucky bride Cristina enjoyed at her bridal shower a couple of weeks ago at Riverstone Golf & Country Club.
The theme was “High Tea”, and we provided vintage China dessert plates, tiered cake stands, platters, and of course teapots and teacups. The décor also included our small gold frames and table top easels to display menus, drink dispensers, and teacups for small flower displays.
It was a lovely afternoon for all the ladies in attendance, and we’re sure the upcoming wedding will be just as beautiful! Congratulations to the beautiful bride-to-be and her groom!

Summer is a wonderful time for a garden wedding, and this lovely couple’s special day was no exception. Bliss Events was inspired by birds and summer flowers to design and co-ordinate a gorgeous vintage chic outdoor wedding at Langdon Hall. We were thrilled to be able to contribute some of our vintage rentals including our pink and green coloured goblets, glass bud vases, vintage tins, and pink settee for a beautiful vignette.
The incredible details and unique pieces came together beautifully to create a warm, charming, and very intimate setting for the bride and groom, and their guests. Andreas Photo Inc. captured the day perfectly, and the gorgeous wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty Canada.
Here’s a few of our favourite shots, but you can see the full gallery here.

As you all know, earlier this week we provided some props to help Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault from CityLine create a country chic garden party for their prime time special featuring Lady Antebellum. It was very exciting to be on set and watch her pull everything together in a matter of minutes, but if you’re looking to host your very own country soiree, no need to stress! Here are a few tips:
Bring indoor pieces outdoors
This is a great way to set the mood for a cozy, comfortable, yet elegant and chic evening soiree with close friends. Enjoy the beautiful summer weather outdoors while feeling like you’re in the comfort of your own home. Try our wooden Paris table for a great drink station, use our pink chaise as comfortable and unique seating for your guests, and bring out chalkboards in vintage frames to display your yummy menu for the evening.
Lighting, lighting, lighting
As Leigh-Ann mentioned on the show, lighting is everything. It creates a feeling and ambiance of intimacy and adds a little bit of magic. Our hanging chandeliers, garden floor lanterns, and cherub or candlestick lumieres can bring light to your evening in a romantic, yet casual way.
Use a tablecloth on an outdoor table
Sticking with the theme of bringing the indoors out, use a tablecloth on your outdoor table. Try our selection of colourful vintage tablecloths, or use lace for a softer, more elegant look. If you’ve got a great outdoor table you would like to show off, add a lace or vintage runner for just a touch of the indoors.
Mix luscious fabrics with raw materials
This is key to achieve the “country chic” look Leigh-Ann was talking about. If you’ve got some nice silk or satin pillows, use our burlap runners to add contrast and give it the “country” feel. Other items like our large trunk, wooden crates and wooden ladders are great props to give your soiree décor some dimension and incorporate raw materials. Our wrought iron arbour Leigh-Ann used on the show also helps to create a homey feeling, and you can always spruce it up by adding greenery or flowers.
Of course, one of the most important aspects of an evening soiree is the food and drink! Use our different size drink dispensers to serve up lemonade or sangria in our vintage goblets. For fun summer colours try mixing and matching clear goblets with our pink, green, or amber ones. Incorporate vintage dishes during each course, or use them for one course like appetizers or dessert for just a touch of vintage chic. Your guests can serve themselves buffet style from our platters and tiered stands, or have them on the table family-style.
When it comes to hosting a dinner soiree there are so many options for themes, and different ways to achieve the look you want. Vintage dishes and props are incredibly versatile and can be used to create anything from country chic to rustic elegance, to soft romance. If you’re planning a summer evening with friends, send us an email and we would love to help you bring your vision to life!

Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault, design and DIY expert on CityTV’s CityLine, approached us last week with a very exciting opportunity. She was looking for vintage props to use on set for a prime time special featuring country group Lady Antebellum. The idea was to create a country chic outdoor garden dinner party, and we had just what she needed!
Together we discussed which props would work best and we decided on our wrought iron décor, including arbour, chandelier, floor lanterns, and chairs, our wooden crates, wooden Paris table, vintage books, and lumieres.
Here’s a sneak peak of the country chic décor. Watch the show on Tuesday, May 28th at 9:00am, 3:00pm, or 9:00pm to see the gorgeous full set and learn how to create your very own garden dinner party!
