2013 CSE Expo and Vintage Vignettes updates!

Hi Everyone,

It’s been pretty hectic over here at Vintage Vignettes!

We had an amazing time at the CSE Expo!! As always, there were so many incredible vendors with very creative booths for the Great Ideas theme this year. We met a lot of fabulous wedding, event and meeting planners, and were so happy to see some familiar faces! You can see pictures of our booth below, inspired by the bold and beautiful colours of the Monet screens recently added to our rental inventory!

Vintage Vignettes also competed in the Theme Design Challenge, and are happy to say we received 1st Runner Up! It’s our very first award and we are shamelessly showing it off at our office smile

We took a slightly different than expected approach to the theme 50 Shades of Grey and kept to our vintage roots. We used vintage China recently added to our collection in greys, pale blues, and soft pinks, all on our new glass beaded chargers. Silver vessels, glass votives, and silver candlesticks completed the rustic and elegant tablescape. Our wood and iron table was framed by our wrought iron arbour, with lanterns on either side. We wanted to give a “Grey Gardens” feel to the table, so we used moss, twigs, roses and greenery to adorn the arbor. To tie in the “50 Shades of Grey” novel theme, our centerpiece included vintage books, and our linens had beautiful vintage looking writing on them. We are so thankful (and very lucky) to have had some help from Kasia at Prelude to a Kiss, who did an incredible job with the arbor! Take a peak below:

Over the next few weeks we will be focusing our attention to incoming and upcoming orders (very exciting!), so we apologize in advance if we are unable to add more blog entries. We will still be giving updates on Facebook and Twitter, so be sure to Like our page and Follow us! Of course, we are always available for inquiries and orders, so please email info@vintagevignettes.ca or call 905-392-1277.

Have a great weekend!

Lovely Lavender Inspiration

It’s no secret that we love France and all of the pretty inspiration that comes with it. When we were approached by Malvina from Fabulous Occasions to be part of a Provence themed inspiration shoot, we were thrilled.

The gorgeous setting with flowers overflowing from hanging birdcages, and lavender throughout were reminiscent of a sweet French Country estate and made for perfect natural beauty. Our silver vessels and glass vases were used as centrepieces for the pretty tabletop, and we absolutely love the harvest savory table using barrels and the dreamy vine adorned swing for the bride.  Such pretty details!

Some very talented professionals worked together and everything came together beautifully!

The shoot was also featured on the amazing blog Green Wedding Shoes, and the U.K. blog Roses & Lace.

Vintage Valentine’s Day Love

Ah, Valentine’s Day: the sweetest, most romantic and love-filled day of the year. We can’t help but feel our hearts swell as couples prepare to celebrate and declare their love for one another with gifts of chocolate and flowers, while others will choose to capture the magic and exchange vows on this special day. Vintage décor radiates romance and will give couples who have Valentine’s Day themed weddings a beautiful and charming occasion.

For a sweet and feminine Valentine’s Day look, use soft pink China tableware, pretty lace and dainty doilies, and whimsical glass candle votives. Or go for a bold and dramatic feel with dark reds, silver vessels for flower arrangements, and black and gold décor accessories like our baroque mirror.

Create a dessert buffet on a vintage table and display Valentine’s Day themed cupcakes and cookies on pink and white China tiered stands, apothecary jars filled with candy hearts, and tea served in pretty teacups.

With all this love brewing in the air, here’s some inspiration for a Valentine’s Day themed wedding or event. Photo credit: Mugshots Photography Photo credit: Mugshots Photography

Elegant Wedding Magazine Cover Shoot

We recently had the privilege of being part of the cover and editorial photo shoot featured in the new Elegant Wedding winter 2013 magazine. Diana from Truly Yours Planning brought her vision to life at the Venetian Banquet and Hospitality Centre, which set the backdrop for a stunning vintage theme.

Using a soft colour palette and elegant details like vintage pearls and brooches gives a very chic and romantic feel to the shoot. Crystal goblets and gold accessories add to the sophistication, and the gorgeous cake by Patricia’s Cake Creations with gold embellishment and pearl draping reflects the glamorous theme perfectly.

We’ve been so lucky to work with some incredible vendors, and this shoot was no exception. Amazing job by everyone who contributed!

Here are some photos, and look for the magazine on stands now!
